The Naka Island

The Naka Island, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, is an exclusive island retreat located off the coast of Phuket, Thailand. Offering luxurious villas with private pools and stunning views, it combines natural beauty with sophisticated amenities. Guests can enjoy world-class spa treatments, fine dining, and various water activities, making it a great resort for a secluded and indulgent getaway.
The Naka Island used to be a Six Senses property and as the resort is kept that way it is a really unusual Luxury Collection resort as the Luxury Collection tends to be classically designed property.
Let me start with an introduction to the Six Senses brand. A collection of ultra-eco-friendly properties that are very much alike. Their spas are famous and are always an experience within themselves. Naka Island was like staying in a Six Senses in many ways, except this one charges for in-room internet as it’s now managed by Starwood. Six Senses properties do not charge for Internet.
My experience started with a short boat trip and a warm welcome. I was escorted to the room. I stayed in a beautiful pool villa which as the name indicates had a private swimming pool. A comfortable bed and natural products in the bathroom were some of the highlights.
The service was up to a great standard. It might be hard to have a bad time about service in Thailand because the staff often go out of their way. Naka was no exception with its friendly staff, but more training could be needed to compete with Phuket’s best resorts. Also, the food would be one thing to improve. It was good, but with the rates that Naka Island charges I had expected a higher level. I had Italian cuisine for dinner and a full breakfast only so it’s entirely based on those two meals.
The facilities included a beautiful spa with great facilities. I, unfortunately, didn’t have a spa treatment, but have read great reviews about it. Finally, I would like to mention that I experienced an eye infection problem and their nurse could not have been more friendly or professional.
I overall rank The Naka Island as a great experience. Great villas and friendly service on a lovely island.
