The Chedi Luštica Bay

The Chedi Luštica Bay is a beautiful 5-star luxury hotel located in the stunning resort town of Luštica Bay. Staying in comfortable great hotels is something I much prefer in my travels compared to homestays. I would like things to work and things to be easy. The hotel is located in a secluded area, away from the crowd, as a little destination in itself.

My experience at The Chedi Luštica Bay started with a warm welcome at check-in and my wife and I were immediately impressed with the beautifully designed lobby. However, it was not a surprise, having stayed at several GHM-operated hotels before I had high expectations about seeing an attractively designed hotel.

After an easy check-in, we arrived excited at the room. The room had a beautiful modern design, a comfortable bed, a working desk, a large flat-screen TV, a kitchen with a stove and a refrigerator that had a built-in mini freezer. The room had two bathrooms. A small one with a toilet and sink and a bigger one with a double sink, toilet, rain shower and a freestanding bathtub with stunning views over the beautiful tourist town. Finally, it’s worth mentioning a complimentary fast Wi-Fi connection, and a balcony which is a nice place to enjoy home-cooked food.

In terms of things to do, there is plenty on offer to enjoy nature around here. Within the Lustica peninsula, there is a huge amount of olive trees and households that produce olive oil in an old-style way. Besides the olive oil, you can buy cheese, goat cheese, prosciutto, jams, honey, snaps, wine and a lot of other tasteful homemade products here. Having a kitchen in your room is a great addition, as it means you can prepare your own meals coming from the farm directly to your plate.

Nature, clean air, space, and privacy would be the main points for choosing this hotel. Also, things really work and the hotel is well-managed by experienced staff.  Other things that can be enjoyed here are the fresh local food in the restaurant, the bike tour through the Olive Tree Alley, the kayaks and stand-up paddles in the clear blue Adriatic sea, to the certified organic seaweed products in the Spa. Fitness programs are available as well, such as personal training and yoga. The personal trainer showed me some exercises to do against pain and I was impressed with his knowledge. He has experience from Belgrade and I felt very well taken care of.

I’m staying here off-season and there aren’t that many guests around. I’ve been the only person at the spa on several occasions and it’s been a great pleasure. The spa is one of the main selling points. It’s a world-class spa with a large indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam and experience shower. Besides this, they play relaxing music, making it a nice place to just relax.

The tourist town is quiet, clean and nice. One of the things I like is a great supermarket that is located just a short walk from the hotel. The hotel itself has one restaurant operating at the moment called The Spot where you can order from a variety of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 24-hour room service is also available at this 5-star hotel which I see as an extra luxury, having the flexibility to order food any time of the day. The restaurant terrace is just on the promenade of a small marina, and for breakfast, you can order as much as you want.

There is plenty of complimentary entertainment for hotel guests. The lobby is a nice place to be with its attractive design. Especially on days of Movie Night where they show movies with complimentary popcorn. Another activity available for in-house guests is cooking classes (once a week) which have been an interesting experience.  I enjoyed learning about pumpkin soup last week and talking to the chef about food. The Gameroom is another complimentary activity offered by the hotel where you can enjoy playing different kinds of games including Nintendo.

In my journey to every country in the world, I only spent a short time in Montenegro. This time is different. The country is small, with a population of around 622,000 people, but it has a lot to offer. I look forward to experiencing more of the country. With a rental car, The Chedi Luštica Bay is an ideal base as one of the best places to stay in the entire country. The friendly staff are service-minded and I have really enjoyed experiencing this beautiful hotel. The photos in this article are provided by The Chedi Luštica Bay.
