Soneva Fushi offers a luxury experience in the Maldives, with spacious villas set amidst lush tropical greenery. Guests can indulge in gourmet dining, rejuvenate at the world-class spa, and enjoy eco-friendly adventures. Ideal for families and couples, the resort combines barefoot luxury with sustainability, providing a fantastic and serene escape.

Soneva Fushi is one of the Maldives’ best and most famous resorts. It used to be part of Six Senses but is now on its own. I arrived excited to see how great it could be. The arrival experience was very impressive with some staff welcoming me. I received a cold towel and welcome drink before being escorted to my villa for in-room check-in.

I stayed in a Beach Villa which had the typical, eco-friendly Six Senses design. Easy access to the beach which was as fantastic. The Maldives is one of the best travel destinations in the world, in my opinion, but also a very pricey one if you are looking for a high-quality resort. In Soneva Fushi you get a lot for your money. The villas also have an outdoor bathtub, shower and natural amenities. Upstairs is the bedroom with a comfortable bed and beautiful views of the Maldivian Sea.

What makes Soneva Fushi among the best properties in The Maldives is the service. Their butler service is especially impressive and called Mr. & Mrs. Friday. My butler was fantastic, well-trained and had a very kind attitude. There are lots of activities and facilities and guest night not get bored at all, even if you stay two weeks. I stayed one night and had a great treatment at their spa which is highly recommended. Yes, it’s expensive, but if you can afford to stay in Soneva Fushi you can easily afford a spa treatment and in that case, it might be well worth it.

On private island resorts, food is always very important as you have to eat as there are no other restaurants. Soneva Fushi gets it right. It was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had at a resort with a great selection of food with high-quality items. The lunch buffet is also up there among the best lunch buffets I’ve had. The a la carte dinner was very impressive and they really put a lot of effort. Soneva Fushi is expensive, but they spend a lot of money to create an experience of this high level. 350-400 employees works on the island which might be among the highest in the Maldives per room.

To sum up, Soneva Fushi is a world-class resort and highly recommended if you can afford it. If you can’t, there are many great alternatives in The Maldives that are much cheaper but also far from the level of Soneva Fushi.
