Volando Urai Spring Spa & Resort offers a serene retreat in Taiwan’s Wulai District. Nestled amidst lush forests and hot springs, it features luxurious villas with private hot spring baths and scenic mountain views. Guests can unwind at the spa, savour gourmet cuisine at the restaurant, and explore nearby indigenous culture. Volando Urai Spring Spa & Resort provides a tranquil escape immersed in natural beauty.
Volando Urai Spring Spa & Resort is a beautiful, small 23-room Relais & Châteaux resort in a beautiful location only 20 kilometres from Taipei. The hotel provides complimentary shuttle service from the nearest metro station and I was picked up before arriving to a warm welcome. I was offered a drink and towel before being escorted to the room. I stayed in a Grand View Room with a very attractive design, comfortable bed, high-speed internet, L’Occitane products, a large bathtub, beautiful views of the river and a complimentary mini-bar.
The service is generally good, but only a few staff speak English. Grace speaks fluent English and only a few additional staff can communicate a little in English. The most impressive service can be found in the restaurant. It is easy to see a big focus on the food which is the most important requirement to be part of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux organization. The food itself is great and comparable to a Michelin-recommended restaurant in Europe but also charged at a very high price. Vegetables are mainly local while meat and fish are mainly imported.
What makes Volando Urai Spring Spa & Resort special is its design and attention to detail. The beautiful location and country feel so close to Taipei is other big pluses and Volando Urai is surely a unique experience for even discerning travellers.
