The St. Regis Doha

The St. Regis Doha epitomizes luxury in Qatar with its opulent Arabian-inspired decor and views of the Arabian Gulf. It features luxurious rooms and suites, exclusive dining experiences at Gordon Ramsay Doha, and a private beach. Guests can rejuvenate at the Remède Spa and enjoy personalized service, making The St. Regis Doha an ideal hotel for discerning travellers seeking elegance and comfort.
The St. Regis hotel brand is a Starwood premium brand and is growing fast. One of the newest properties (at the time of my visit) is the 336-room St. Regis Doha which includes 70 suites. My experience started with a quick check-in and talk with a Kenyan receptionist before being escorted to the room. I was told the butler would be waiting for me, but he wasn’t and only a few hours later he introduced himself. I stayed in a Deluxe Room which had a typical St. Regis design, a comfortable bed, a working desk, a separate bathtub from the shower and Reméde products. Four complimentary bottles of water and local amenities were a nice little touch. The internet was surprisingly complimentary which is seen in more and more St. Regis hotels.
The butler service works very well and all the requests on the phone goes through the butler centre. The facilities included impressive meeting facilities and a Reméde Spa. One thing to improve at The St. Regis Doha would be the attention to detail, the service can still be better and some staff could certainly benefit from training. The service in the restaurant at breakfast time was a little slow. What I didn’t like about the hotel was their smoking policy where smoking is allowed in the lobby. This is normal in Doha, but Starwood has opened smoke-free properties in places like South Korea and Russia.
The bottom line is that it’s an impressive St. Regis hotel and the brand St. Regis brand is impressive. They create the same kind of hotel experience with a similar feel in most of their locations, at least the ones I’ve experienced.
