Homm Wenzhou Nanxijiang

Set among the mountains of Yongjia in Zhejiang Province, Homm Wenzhou Nanxijiang is a relatively new resort designed around the landscape rather than the urban environment. The hotel opened in July 2025 and sits in Nanchen Village, Yunling Township, at an altitude of around 520 metres. From the property, the Yandang Mountains lie to the east, while the Nanxi River is to the west.

The setting is the main reason to come here. This is not a hotel in the middle of Wenzhou with a few landscaped gardens around it, but a mountain retreat surrounded by forest and dramatic Zhejiang scenery. The location also makes it possible to combine a stay at the resort with visits to the Nanxi River and Yandang Mountain areas, both of which are within roughly a 40-minute drive according to the hotel.

Homm Wenzhou Nanxijiang takes much of its visual inspiration from the Song Dynasty. The architecture uses a relatively restrained style intended to blend buildings, trees, water and the surrounding mountains. Rather than competing with the scenery, the design gives the landscape considerable space. This becomes particularly noticeable from the guest rooms and outdoor areas, where views of the surrounding hills are an important part of the experience.

The accommodation includes several room categories, ranging from Garden View Rooms to Mountain View Rooms, suites and family-oriented loft rooms. Standard Garden View Rooms start at 42 square metres and have private balconies, walk-in showers, refrigerators, work desks and 55-inch televisions. A pillow menu and the possibility of adding a cot or rollaway bed are also available.

For many guests, however, the hot springs are likely to be the hotel’s biggest attraction. The resort has two deep hot spring wells reaching 1,752 and 2,000 metres, together with 25 outdoor soaking pools and one indoor pool. The outdoor pools are positioned among the mountains, giving the experience a distinctly different character from the large indoor spa complexes found in many Chinese cities.

Recent guest reviews frequently mention the hot springs, with several travellers highlighting the range of pools and the mountain setting. Some also describe quieter evening visits, although the atmosphere can naturally change during holidays and busy periods. Reviews have also commented positively on the cleanliness of the pools and the availability of towels in the changing areas.

Dining is centred on Nanxiang, the hotel’s main restaurant. It serves Jiangzhe cuisine alongside an international breakfast, with the menu based on seasonal ingredients. There is also Shan Yin, the lobby bar, offering freshly ground coffee, soft drinks and afternoon tea.

The resort is also equipped with facilities aimed at families. A 170-square-metre kids’ club provides indoor activities, while the property has meeting and event facilities covering 600 square metres. There is also a fitness centre, free parking and shuttle services.

One of the more appealing aspects of Homm Wenzhou Nanxijiang is that the hotel works as a destination in its own right. Guests can spend much of the day between the pools, restaurants, rooms and surrounding countryside without needing a packed sightseeing schedule. For those who do want to explore, the Nanxi River and Yandang Mountains provide plenty of options nearby.

Guest feedback since the opening has generally been very positive, with repeated comments about the quiet surroundings, room quality, service and hot springs. Tripadvisor currently lists the hotel among Wenzhou’s higher-rated properties, although reviews are naturally subjective and the resort is still relatively new.

For travellers exploring Zhejiang beyond the better-known cities, Homm Wenzhou Nanxijiang offers a different side of the province. It combines contemporary resort facilities with traditional Chinese design influences and, most importantly, puts the mountains and hot springs at the centre of the stay. It is a place where the landscape is not simply something to look at from a hotel window, but an integral part of the experience.
