Tintswalo Atlantic, located at the base of Chapman’s Peak in Cape Town, offers a serene oceanfront escape with luxurious suites and panoramic views of Hout Bay. Renowned for its exceptional service, gourmet dining, and intimate atmosphere, this boutique lodge provides a perfect blend of natural beauty and refined elegance, making it an ideal destination for relaxation and romance.
With room rates starting at 7.800 rand, Tintswalo Atlantic has some of the highest rates in Cape Town. It’s also a member of the Kiwi Collection, and I was excited to see how good it could be.
I arrived in the afternoon and received a nice welcome drink and a towel before being escorted to the room. I stayed in a Sicily Island Suite. It had an Italian style and was very beautifully appointed. The bathroom had a free-standing bathtub and a separate rain shower. 12 rooms total in Tintswalo Atlantic, which is individually designed. The balcony had beautiful sea views, and the sound of the sea was quite unique, as it’s probably the only high-end hotel in Cape Town that offers that.
Tintswalo Atlantic is a hotel that charges for everything you rarely see in small independent hotels. It’s not good that there is a 100 and charge for wifi pr. day and that there are no complimentary bottles of water. The service wasn’t very impressive. They just got new staff, and they didn’t seem to know much about their hotel when I talked to them. The chef was very friendly and made a great dinner.
Overall, it’s definitely a unique experience, but I find all the extras very annoying. Keep in mind that this hotel has fantastic Tripadvisor reviews despite the high rates, and if you like the style, you might love it.
