Thulhagiri Island Resort, Maldives offers idyllic island charm. Crystal-clear waters lap at pristine beaches, inviting snorkelling and diving adventures. This Maldivian resort offers a private island experience amidst breathtaking scenery.
Thulhagiri is situated in North Male Atoll, approximately 13 km from the airport. It takes only 25 minutes by speed boat from Male’s international airport. Thulhagiri offers the a balance of an unspoiled tropical island with comfortable accommodation.
Below is my experience based on a one-night stay at the property.
My arrival experience started by meeting a friendly airport representative followed by an uncomfortable boat ride to the island. Getting a new boat might be a good idea.
What I lived: The short distance to Malé International Airport.
What about the food? I didn’t eat here. The dinner buffet was very disappointing, and I didn’t find a single thing that looked nice. Sorry. Many people not used to a high-end resorts and impressive food might be very satisfied.
What about the service? Some of the staff are excellent, trained, and friendly, while others need a lot of training. At check-in, it felt like it was the guy’s first day working at a hotel.
What About My Room: Quite acceptable for the rates they charge on this island. My room had a freestanding bathtub as the highlight. The bed was a bit hard, but overall an acceptable room which might have been the cheapest resort in the Maldives with a freestanding bathtub at the time, or, I think, definitely one of the cheaper.

Complimentary internet: Yes, it worked in the room, but it was slow.
My overall impression: Good experience. If you just want to have a stunning beach and a comfortable room, Thulhagiri might be a good option for the price. However, if you need great service, stunning villas and good food, I would recommend looking for another option. In The Maldives, there is something for different budgets and preferences.
