The Lowry Hotel Manchester

The Lowry Hotel in Manchester offers a comfortable and contemporary stay in the heart of the city. This five-star hotel features stylish rooms and suites, a luxurious spa, and a fine dining restaurant overlooking the River Irwell. Guests can enjoy great service, modern amenities, and convenient access to the city’s cultural attractions and shopping districts, making a convenient and comfortable hotel to stay in Manchester.

The Lowry Hotel was the best hotel I could find in Manchester at the time of my stay and part of The Leading Hotels of the World. This Rocco Forte Hotel was my second in the chain, and I was excited to experience much after a great stay in Florence in 2011. I arrived late and received a warm welcome before being escorted to the room.

I stayed in a standard Deluxe Room which was overall lovely and very comfortable. The bathroom, unfortunately, didn’t have a separate shower, but instead, it had my favourite REN products which is the preferred amenity among many travellers I’ve met. The bed was comfortable, and everything was kept in a simple design. The internet was included as part of my package, but the internet is not complimentary in the hotel which is a big negative touch point.

The service is one of the most important aspects of a hotel stay and The Lowry didn’t disappoint. Professionally run and has great staff in all areas. I was very impressed, and The Lowry was in many ways comparable with the best hotels I’ve stayed in European cities. 165 rooms is just too much to deliver personalized service and the reason the 5-star city hotels rarely can compete with the small country hotels from an experience port of view in my opinion. In the city, you are mostly there for different reasons while country hotels are destination hotels where you travel there because of that specific hotel.

The stay ended with a truly great breakfast. High-quality items in the buffet and great, attentive service as well making a very impressive last impression of the hotel. The bottom line is The Lowry Hotel is the only great hotel in Manchester, and if you can afford it it’s an easy decision. There are more valuable choices, but they are far from the level of Lowry, having visited Manchester in the past before this project started.
