The Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa

Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa is a beautiful hotel near Cape Town. Nestled amidst majestic mountains and Stellenbosch vineyards, this hotel offers wine lovers, golfers, and nature enthusiasts a good base. Guests can unwind at the spa, indulge in delectable meals, and explore the surrounding wine estates.

Below is my experience based on a two-night stay at the property.

My arrival experience: I received a warm welcome from the kind receptionist before being shown around the property and escorted to my room.
What I loved: The beautiful Cape Dutch architecture.
What about the food: I didn’t dine here, but the breakfast buffet was a bit basic and should have some high-quality items. The breakfast is the last chance to impress a guest before he leaves.
What about the service: The service is good with well-trained staff at the reception. I found the staff to be a level above some of the similar hotels I have stayed in South Africa. The details could be a little better. The room could have had complimentary bottled water, and a Preferred Hotels & Resorts member scould have welcome amenities.
What about my room: The rooms are a little old, but still have a kind of old-world charm. My bathroom had a bathtub, a separate rain shower, and Charlotte Rhys products. It would be a good idea to replace the old carpet for a more comfortable feel in the room.
Number of rooms: 56, according to their website. 57, according to their information on Tripadvisor.
Type of property: Country hotel.
Location: Somerset West, South Africa.
Facilities: Spa, two pools and business/meeting facilities.
Complimentary Internet: Yes.
Affiliations: Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
My overall impression: Great experience. Despite small issues, this hotel is a lovely place to stay and I enjoyed my two nights.
