InterContinental Lyon – Hotel Dieu
InterContinental Lyon – Hotel Dieu opened earlier this year with a great central location for exploring France’s third-biggest city. I arrived to a friendly welcome by the professional receptionist that escorted me to the room. The receptionist told me it’s not always they escort the guest to the room as it depends how busy they are.
After a short walk, we arrived at the room. It was a very impressive room with a beautiful contemporary design, ultra-comfortable bed, flat-screen Tv, working desk, and a great shower in the bathroom. The room also had two complimentary bottles of Evian waters as well as free WiFi.
The room was probably the single best InterContinental city hotel I have stayed based on the room alone, but this hotel is much more than just the room. The excellent location is great to explore the city on foot, the service is professional and the breakfast was delicious. A big selection of high-quality food in the buffet made it a little experience in itself. The spa is located a small walk from the lobby and was another pleasant experience. Since spa access isn’t included as a standard, there weren’t many people, and being alone in the sauna was a blessing. I really enjoyed it as a final experience before checking out of this stunning hotel that must be one of the best InterContinental’s out there.
