Hotel Borg in Reykjavik offers an elegant and luxurious stay with its Art Deco design and prime city centre location. Overlooking Austurvöllur Square, this iconic hotel features stylish rooms, a renowned restaurant, and a relaxing spa. Guests can enjoy great service, modern amenities, and easy access to Reykjavik’s cultural landmarks and vibrant nightlife.

Hotel Borg is Reykjavik’s most expensive hotel and offers a great 56-room hotel with classical art deco design. My experience started with a warm Icelandic welcome at check-in, after a small talk I was given the key, but not escorted to the room. I stayed in a very impressive suite with two Bang&Olufsen TVs, a comfortable bed, complimentary high-speed internet and a separate shower from the bathtub. Hotel Borg recently won an award at the World Travel Awards for Iceland’s best hotel, and as I liked Hotel 101, I was excited to see how good the service could be here.

After my stay, it’s easy to conclude the stay is overall great. In some situations, the service was a little slow, like at check out where I waited 5 minutes, but otherwise, I was impressed with the attitude of the staff. Especially, the restaurant manager of Borg Restaurant, located just next to the lobby, where I had a great dining experience.

The stay ended with a great breakfast. High-quality items in the buffet and kind, charming service. The bottom line is that Hotel Borg is one of Reykjavik’s best hotels. I like both this classical hotel and the design hotel, Hotel 101, and it’s really hard to pick a winner. In my book, they are both great experiences.
