W Taipei

W Taipei stands as a vibrant luxury hotel in Taiwan’s dynamic capital. Located in Xinyi District, it offers sleek rooms and suites with city views and modern amenities. Guests can savour diverse dining options, party at the rooftop bar, and relax at the spa and outdoor pool. W Taipei combines contemporary style with energetic nightlife, ideal for cosmopolitan travellers exploring Taipei.
W is a Starwood lifestyle brand and having stayed at some of their properties in the past, I pretty much knew what to expect before arriving at W Taipei. W Taipei is one of the biggest W hotels with a total of 405 rooms. It unfortunately gave me a bad first impression with smoke in the lobby and an approximate 5-minute waiting time for check-in. W Taipei is a big complex with 405 rooms, 3 bars and 2 restaurants meaning you will mostly see a lot of people and often with waiting time at the elevators. I stayed in a beautiful room called Wonderful Room with the very comfortable W Signature Bed, Bliss products, separate rainshower from the bathtub and beautiful views of Taipei.
The service at W Taipei is in many ways great and I was impressed with the English level at the front desk, concierge, business centre, in the restaurants and on the phone. The facilities were very impressive as well with a beautiful spa and high-tech gym. The stay ended with a truly great breakfast buffet with great food and service.
The bottom line is that W Taipei is up to W’s standards and is surely a great choice in Taipei. Well-managed and with a higher service level than most W hotels I’ve stayed.
