Before the rebranding, The Kempinski Hotel N’Djamena, in Chad’s capital, offered great accommodations and impressive amenities. Guests could enjoy spacious rooms, good dining options, a refreshing pool, and a fitness centre. The hotel catered to both business and leisure travellers, providing a comfortable place to stay in Chad.
My arrival experience: Warm and fast check-in before being escorted to the room.
What I loved: To find this level of comfort in a country like Chad.
What about the food: A surprisingly good breakfast buffet. I especially liked the exotic juices and fresh fruits.
What about the service: Going to Central Africa, you can’t really expect Western standards, but the hotel does a good job. The local staff are friendly and especially Hassan impressed me with his fast replies to my e-mails. The hotel missed my pick-up from the airport so I hitchhiked and had an adventure.
What about the rooms: Comfortable rooms with beautiful views of the city. Working desk, flat screen Tv and complimentary internet make it ideal for business travellers. The bathroom had combined shower and bathtub.
Number of rooms: 177.
Type of property: City hotel.
Location: N’Djamena, Chad.
Facilities: Swimming pool, gym, spa with sauna and business/meeting facilities.
Complimentary internet: Yes. Fast enough for VOIP calls.
My overall impression: Good+ experience. Impressive to find a hotel of this standard in Chad.
