Steel House Copenhagen

I have stayed at many different kinds of accommodation in my travels. Luxury hotels, basic hotels, Airbnb’s, B&B’s, hostels with dorm beds, hostels in a private room, and this article is about a luxury hostel. Steel House is a unique concept by the Arp-Hansen Hotel Group. Located in the heart of Copenhagen, only a short walk from the central train station, Steel House has an attractive New Yorker-inspired design, 253 rooms in total, including 64 two-bedrooms, 54 four-bed rooms and 135 six-bed rooms.

I have stayed several times at Steel House Copenhagen, and I have been very impressed with the value. Dorms are starting at 145 kroner per bed per night, but I have always chosen to stay in a private room. It’s a hostel, but the comfort level of a private room has been better than many 5-star hotels. The hostel is located on a relatively quiet street (despite its central location), and I have not had noise issues, which is obviously great for sleep quality. Of all the hostels I’ve stayed in, Steel House is by far the nicest. I liked the contemporary design, the comfortable bed, the good shower and the fast Wi-Fi connection.  In addition to the great design, Steel House has facilities like an indoor pool, cinema and gym, making it very different from your typical hostel. Together with Wake Up, Steel House is my preferred choice in Copenhagen for a comfortable stay with great value.

Finally, it’s also worth mentioning that you can check-in and check-out via an app on your phone, which is something I highly appreciate. I remember several times I have waited and wasted valuable time checking in and checking out of hotels.
