Restaurant Tri, Thy

I have been to many Michelin-starred restaurants in my travels, so when I saw that Thy had one, I decided to visit it myself. Restaurant Tri is located in Agger, a small village on the northern coast of Denmark. The restaurant occupies a position close to the North Sea, providing a setting that combines scenic views, maritime atmosphere, and easy access for both local residents and visitors to the region. Tri has established itself as a popular destination for guests seeking a special fine dining experience.
The restaurant is housed in a modest building designed to blend with the surrounding village architecture. Its interior is functional and welcoming, with a combination of timber, neutral tones, and practical furnishings.
During my short visit, I met up with chef, Nicolas Min Jørgensen, who told me about himself and his restaurant which only has six tables. He had previous worked at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Aarhus where two relationships didn’t work for him out because of work. Now he is trying to have a good balance in Thy and with his concept at his restaurant in Agger. He is from Western Jutland himself, but about 100 kilometres south of Agger.
The experience at Restaurant Tri comes with approximately 15 dishes, which specialises in seafood together with local and seasonal ingredients, reflecting both the region’s culinary traditions and the availability of fresh ingredients. The menu changes seasonally to incorporate locally sourced produce, including fish caught in the nearby North Sea, shellfish, and other regional specialties. Restaurant Tri also holds a Michelin Green Star for their sustainable approach to gastronomy.
In addition to the lovely village of Agger, Thy National Park is located nearby giving guest the opportunity to combine a Michelin-started gourmet experience with beautiful nature experiences.
