La Vie, Osnabrück (Three Michelin Stars)

Update after my visit: La Vie has closed down.

La Vie was a three Michelin-starred restaurant located in Osnabrück, a German city with more than 150,000 inhabitants. I visited it before it closed down after Thomas Bühner successfully had been in charge since 2006, obtaining the third star in 2011. The restaurant was, unfortunately, recently, closed because of an “organizational realignment” of the company, but below are photos from my visit. Thomas Bühner was kind to pick me up and take me to the restaurant, instead of having to find nearby parking myself.

Of course, the food must be excellent to have three Michelin stars, but the service is also a part of the experience when it comes to restaurants with three Michelin stars, based on my previous experiences at such establishments. The service was professional and the staff well-spoken.

The menu was nicely presented with high-quality food and ingredients, while the homemade drinks added to the experience. Below are the photos from the experience which I would rank as a truly great experience. La Vie has closed so to have a similar experience, would probably depend a lot on Thomas Bühner and where he decides to go next. Good luck to him and his team, and thanks for a great afternoon in Osnabrück.
