La Posta Vecchia Hotel

After a wonderful stay at Il Pellicano, I was very excited to experience the quality of its sister hotel, La Posta Vecchia, located just a few minutes from the town of Ladispoli. Expectations were naturally high, and I’m happy to say the hotel delivered beautifully.
From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this was a very special place. The main building is stunning, rich in history and elegance, and the entire property exudes character and a strong sense of identity. I received a warm and professional welcome before being escorted to my room, which immediately set the tone for the stay.
I stayed in the Red Suite, and it was a fantastic experience overall. As with Il Pellicano, the minibar was complimentary, fully stocked with drinks and snacks, which is always a thoughtful and appreciated touch. The bathroom had a very distinctive design—something I hadn’t seen before—and featured high-quality local products, adding to the sense of place and authenticity. The bed could have been slightly softer, though this ultimately comes down to personal preference.
La Posta Vecchia has only 19 rooms, but the facilities are truly five-star. The indoor swimming pool is beautiful, and the gym is well-equipped. Complimentary bicycles are also provided, making it easy and enjoyable to explore the extensive grounds and surrounding areas.
Food is a key pillar of Relais & Châteaux, and La Posta Vecchia absolutely lives up to that reputation. I had dinner at their one-Michelin-star restaurant, The Caesar, which was a standout experience with excellent cuisine and impeccable service. Breakfast was also enjoyable, and one of the last good impressions of the short stay.
The overall service level was excellent and among the best I’ve experienced in Italy. The staff genuinely go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and cared for. All in all, La Posta Vecchia is a superb addition to the Relais & Châteaux portfolio—a beautiful, well-rounded property that delivers on every level.
