Ilala Lodge is located only 300 feet from the incredible Victoria Falls. Elegant interior design throughout the property with dated rooms as the only downside. The staff are lovely, the surroundings fantastic, but the food is what makes Ilala Lodge special. Probably the best you can get in Victoria Falls. Room rates are half of the 5-star properties in Victoria Falls and overall the best value for money among all the hotels I’ve stayed in Zimbabwe.

Arrival experience: Warm welcome from the General Manager, Martin before being escorted to the room.

What I liked the most: The food and surroundings.

What about the food: Fantastic dinner. I highly recommend the crocodile lasagne. The chef has worked in fine dining restaurants in Europe and this is surely the best place to dine in Victoria Falls.
