One Aldwych is one of the smaller hotels in the prestigious organization, The Leading Hotels of the World with just 105 rooms total. I arrived in the evening, and after a short registration, I was given the key and on the way to the room.
One Aldwych has a contemporary design just about everywhere, including the rooms where I stayed in a Deluxe Room. It had great welcome amenities, a handwritten welcome card, a flat-screen TV and a working desk. All in a comfortable, modern design. The bathroom had a separate shower from the bathtub and natural One Aldwych branded products. Furthermore, One Aldwych had one detail I haven’t seen in other hotels. A security plastic bag for the 100 ml liquids. Nice detail and a way to be now prepared for the airport where one world expect many guest travels soon after staying at this hotel. The bed was OK, it wasn’t hard, but I personally prefer a very soft one. I only had breakfast in the hotel, which was a good experience with a la carte. The service was up to the standards I expected. With 105 rooms, the front desk isn’t as busy as at the bigger business hotels, and that makes a difference. Through e-mails, front desk, and phone calls, I only received kind, professional service that was definitely up to the standards of LHW.
The facilities included a really great health club with a beautifully designed indoor swimming pool. The gym facilities were updated with the latest technology, and various meeting rooms could accommodate business travellers. Overall, this is a luxury hotel that works. It is fully up to the standards of The Leading Hotels of the World and is one of the many great hotels in London.
My opinion: Great experience.
