Diamonds Thudufushi, Maldives

Diamonds Thudufushi, Maldives, is a luxurious retreat on a private Maldivian island. Guests can dive into vibrant coral reefs teeming with life or relax by the infinity pool. Spacious beachfront villas and overwater bungalows boast stunning ocean views. Guests can also experience fresh seafood at beachfront restaurants or unwind with pampering spa treatments. This private island resort offers a blend of luxury and adventure.

Below is my experience based on a one-night stay at the property.

My Arrival Experience: I received a warm welcome from Jessica and the team before receiving a welcome drink and an orientation to the resort.
What I Liked the Most: The food and the service. The food is among the best of any Maldivian resort. Some Michelin chefs come once a year to train Thudufushi’s chefs, and it makes a big difference. The main chef was on vacation, but his team did a great job. The food is overall better here than at their sister resort. I highly recommend dining at the Water Villa’s restaurant, where the service is great as well.
What About the Service: Great service is available in all resort areas. Actually, it is among the better resorts in the Maldives in this price range. I have stayed at more than 40, so there is much to compare. It might be the best choice for the price, but you can get better at places like Four Seasons if you are willing to pay around three times more. Four Seasons also has a more corporate feel, which some might not prefer. Thudufushi is Swiss-owned but without the business feel you can find at some of the chain hotels. Conrad would be another example. Italian Jessica would be one of the staff to mention. She does a fantastic job with her smiles and a great attitude towards the guests.
What About the Rooms: The rooms are lovely and not corporate at all. Instead, they’re focused on minimalism. My beach villa had no TV and a great design. It had an outdoor rain shower, a comfortable bed, and easy access to the beach. The bathroom amenities could be better, but that would be one of the only things to point out in an otherwise excellent experience.
Number of Rooms: 74.
Type of Property: Resort.
Location: Maldives.
Facilities: Gym and spa. I had a fantastic treatment at the spa by their Balinese therapist. She knew the areas with tension, and that is usually how you can tell if your therapist knows her stuff or not.
Complimentary Internet: Yes, but slow. The president is aware of the problem and I would love to return in the future and not waiting long for pages to load.
My Overall Impression: Great+ experience.
